Filed in AFL, AFL Lines by on March 19, 2014

Welcome to the new AFL lines podcast…. after Greg Oberscheidt and Cliff Bingham hit 3 winners from as many bets in the opening week, can they translate this stellar start to the spoken word format? At a bare minimum, talking is more fun than writing, and listening is more fun than reading…..

Cheers, Cliff & Greg. Been following your recommended picks since last season’s finals series and have come up trumps for the majority of them (including 4 from 4 to start 2014). Nicely played fellas and keep up the top research.

    Good preview of the round

  3. Cliff Bingham says:

One thing we didn’t close off as formally in the podcast as we used to in the written column was a recap of the recommended bets.

That’s definitely something we could add to the podcast – that way, you could skip ahead to the last 30 seconds to a minute of the audio if you just want the recommended bets.

We could also supplement that with a written copy of the recommended bets via the comments section on say the Friday (giving the podcast format a bit of standalone air time first), which would also make it easier for readers to track results after the weekend is done.

For the record, this week the bets were:
    GO
1 unit on Hawthorn -46.5 at $1.92 (Luxbet)
1 unit on West Coast -23.5 at $1.92 (Sportsbet)

    CB
1 unit on West Coast -23.5 at $1.92 (Sportsbet)

    Hi Justin

That was definitely a consideration in thinking about whether to go with a podcast or stick with written columns. The counter argument is that written columns are often quite awkward to read on a phone, whilst a podcast can be listened to while commuting to and from work, etc. There are undoubtedly pros and cons to either option.

Thanks cliff, is it not possible to provide a typed short summary of your tips then to please both parties? Thanks

  5. Justin says:

Why do you have to make it a podcast that takes 11 minutes to listen too when your typed tips took 45 seconds to read to get the same information. Please revert back to the original.

  6. Rosco says:

    Great heads for radio.
