Caulfield (tips based on a track rating range of good 2 to dead 5)
Race 6 No. 4 Undeniably
- Races best when fresh (11 starts for 3-4-0 when first or second-up, 9 starts for 1-0-1 thereafter), ran fourth in both the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate and Group 1 Newmarket Handicap in the autumn, should be able to stalk the leaders in running.
Race 7 No. 10 Pelicano
- Was excellent first-up behind Broken (who has since won again) over 1200 metres, gets to a much more suitable trip second-up (has 3 starts for 1-0-1 second-up), 14 starts on good or dead tracks for 7-0-1, drawn better than a number of key rivals here.
Race 8 No. 10 Super Cool
- Has defeated It’s A Dundeel (himself a 4-time Group 1 winner) both times they have met, he and Fiveandahalfstar belted the older horses (including Green Moon) in the Group 1 Australian Cup, won first-up over 1300 metres two preparations ago, can race handy to the speed if the tempo is only moderate.
Rosehill (tips based on a track rating range of good 2 to dead 5)
Race 5 No. 11 Harmonic
- Big win first-up at the track/ trip, never been unplaced when fresh (7 starts for 2-4-1 first or second-up, 5 starts for 1-1-0 thereafter), 2 starts for 1-1-0 at the distance, 5 starts for 2-2-0 on good-rated tracks, McEvoy stable currently flying.
Race 8 No. 6 Grey Assignment
- Improves vastly with a couple of runs under his belt (15 starts for 0-3-0 first or second-up, 25 starts for 12-7-1 thereafter), 7 starts at the trip for 3-1-0, in the Melbourne spring carnival ran second over this trip at Listed level carrying 59.5 kilos and fifth at Group 3 level carrying 59 kilos so getting in with 55 kilos in a Listed race here is a luxury, drawn well.
Doomben (tips based on a track rating range of good 2 to dead 5)
Race 6 No. 2 Bribie
- Races best at this distance (7 wins from 20 starts, 0 wins from 10 starts at all other trips) and in particular this track/ trip (9 starts for 4-1-0), loves dry tracks (16 starts for 6-3-2 on good-rated tracks, 14 starts for 1-4-2 on rain-affected surfaces), convincing last start winner, gets in with 55.5 kilos after the claim.
