Saturday February 8

Caulfield (tips based on a track rating range of good 2 to dead 5)

Race 9 No. 7 A Time For Julia

Her first-up form is her best form (a win and a second to Octavia at Group 3 level at this track/ trip), 3 starts for 1-1-0 at the trip. She’s drawn to sit handy to the speed in a race where many of the main contenders will be towards the back

Randwick (tips based on a track rating range of good 2 to dead 5)

Race 4 No. 8 Target In Sight

Has a career record of 8 starts for 4-3-1 at distances of up to 1200 metres, including 2 starts at the track/ trip for 1-1-0. He’s had a 4-week break since a fast finishing third at the Gold Coast, but races well fresh so this should be fine.

Race 6 No. 5 Howmuchdoyouloveme

The forgotten sprinter in this race. Was very good with 61 kilos first-up in the Canterbury Classic behind Knoydart, and won over this trip with 60 kilos at Group 3 level only 3 starts ago. Can stalk the likely speed set by Rain Affair and give the backmarkers plenty to catch.

Eagle Farm (tips based on a track rating range of good 2 to dead 5)

Race 4 No. 6 The Ringmaster

Finally drops back to short course sprints (4 wins from 4 starts at 1000 metres, 19 starts for 2-3-6 at all other trips). Meets Rocky King 1.5 kilos better for beating that galloper home over 900 metres at the Gold Coast last start, and Rocky King’s last start win has franked that form line.
