Nathan Fien has announced his retirement and could retire with the Willie M Medal. Fien again polled against the Sharks, the Dragons nearly pinching victory in spite of Fien’s ineptitude. Fien has coaching in his future though, having signed on as captain-coach of the Thirroul Butchers in 2014. Note to self: do not back the Butchers.

What game were you watching mate? Beau Scott is the reason the Knights finally have a decent right side defence, he stopped at least three breaks on the weekend.
    Newcastle v Melbourne:

3 – James McManus (costly errors, woefully out of position in attack – forward passes were not Leilua's fault as McManus was a yard in front of him whenever the ball came his way. Has begun his usual slump after half a season's good form).

2 – Korbin Sims (ran with all the impact of a giant cream puff, seemed terrified of getting involved, inexcusable for a man of his size who spent as long as he did on the field).

1 – Sisa Waqa (the Storm's worst, errors and bad defensive reads were the story of his game).
