It could be the year of the rookie when it comes to the Willie M Medal with Jackson Hastings and Jaelen Feeney becoming the first two players to record votes across the first two weeks of 2016. Roosters coach Trent Robinson faces an interesting call when Mitch Pearce returns. Hastings seemed set to be his partner but Jayden Nikorima has completely outplayed Hastings and would be more deserving of the position. At Newcastle, it is already apparent that Jaelen Feeney is not a long-term solution at fullback with Jake Mamo likely to win back a position next week.
