Making the Nut would like to welcome on board our latest sports betting experts, Sportinguru. If it moves they bet on it! From NRL, AFL, Racing to College Football and obscure cricket matches, it's all here! They know they're stuff and find plenty of winners while making you laugh. They will be posting weekly on Friday mornings so be sure to tune in and get the late mail. You can follow them on Facebook and Twitter as well.

Storm v Manly

The 2 best teams of this generation or as Des Hasler would say the benchmark!

These teams love to grind a win, but are packed full of talent. The Guru has been working overtime to split these sides but is struggling. He has Manly marginally ahead but throw in the home field and it’s too tight to call. Both teams are 4-4 under Archer against each other! If you go through the teams the fullbacks are even, the wingers are even, the centres are Manly, the halves even, the running forwards are Manly. Hooker is Melbourne, but Ballin is a great consolation. Manly also have an advantage on the bench. This game will come down to whose big guns fire on the day. Too hard to pick, unders is a lock.

Tip

Under 34.5 points @ $1.90

Manly 1-12 @ $3.50 (if you’re brave)

Dogs v Souths

This semi won’t be close however; the Dogs will win and progress through to the GF. South’s drift in and out of games far too much for the Guru’s liking. If the Dogs pack can withstand an early barrage from the South’s forwards they win this through being the more consistent team. Dogs are 2-0 under Hayne v South’s

Tip

Dogs -4.5 @ $1.92

Racing

The Melbourne Cup weights have just been released and the Guru will have a full rundown on the Melbourne Cup in next week’s edition where we will narrow it down to a few key chances and tell you which favourites to ignore.

Caulfield r4no2 Kulgrinda @ $5.00– is brilliant at the start of a prep and in an open race this looks great value

Caulfield r5no3 Blackie @ $7.00– former star 3yr old now with Moody who was huge first up. Getting to his pet distance now, this is great value

Caulfield r7no1 Manighar @ $3.40- this price won’t last long. He is the dominant older male in the country on his way to the Cox Plate. Unload

Caulfield r8no3 Shenzhou Steeds @ $6.00– made massive strides through winter and was solid first up. Back in class, and up in distance make him good value

Randwick r5no5 Speediness @ $6.00- talented but continually luckless galloper. Proven in Sydney, and at $6.00 represents enormous each way value

Randwick r7no5 Lamasery @ $5.50- last week the Guru found Stout Hearted when everyone seems to be against him but this week expect Lamasery to win. He has now proven himself at WFA at unsuitable distances, he is a classy stayer

Randwick r8no3 Rain Affair @ $3.80- he was disappointing first up but at $3.80 the Guru thinks he is value and will give him one more chance
