Friday January 24

Flemington (tips based on a track rating range of good 2 to dead 5)

Race 2 No. 1 Hai Lil

Loves Moonee Valley (4 starts for 3-0-0), loves 1200 metres (5 starts for 4-0-0), loves racing fresh (3 starts for 2-0-0), won with 60 kilos at Flemington last preparation so the big weight is not a concern.

Race 8 No. 12 Tronador

Improves with racing (6 starts for 1-0-1 when first or second-up, 8 starts for 3-1-0 thereafter), won his last 2 starts including a win at this track with 57 kilos, drops 4.5 kilos from his last start win at Kilmore.

Saturday January 25

Caulfield (tips based on a track rating range of good 2 to dead 5)

Race 2 No. 9 Borsay

Loves racing fresh (5 starts for 2-1-1, with the one miss coming on a heavy track), unplaced at both his previous 1000-metree runs but one was on a heavy track, 8 starts for 3-2-1 on tracks rated slow or better.

Race 7 No. 7 Heisman

Improves with racing (6 starts for 0-0-2 when first or second-up, 18 starts for 5-5-2 thereafter), won his last 3 races on end including 2 at this distance, up in grade but drops 5 kilos from a comfortable last start win.

Randwick (tips based on a track rating range of good 2 to dead 5)

Race 6 No. 3 I’m Imposing

Keep coming back to his runs last preparation at this trip, where he ran second to Julienas at Group 3 level and was then beaten only 2.3 lengths in the Group 1 The Metropolitan, won well second-up before sprinting for home quite early and being overrun (albeit beaten only 1.5 lengths) in the Gosford Cup last start.

Race 7 No. 8 Holy Delusions

Gets in with only 53 kilos after the claim, has had 5 weeks between races but goes well fresh (6 starts for 2-3-1 when first or second-up), 9 starts for 3-3-2 on tracks rated slow or better.

Eagle Farm (tips based on a track rating range of good 2 to slow 7)

Race 4 No. 1 Kilwinning Option

22 starts for 10-5-1 on tracks rated dead or better, which improves to 19 starts for 10-5-1 if you remove the unsuccessful period he had in the Joe Pride stables in Sydney, was a solid second in his return to Brisbane racing last start.

Race 8 No. 10 Harada Bay

Won first-up after changing stables and moving from Sydney to Brisbane, goes best early in his prep (7 starts for 3-1-0 first or second-up, 9 starts for 1-2-1 thereafter), 4 starts for 2-1-0 at the distance.

Morphettville Parks (tips based on a track rating range of good 2 to slow 7)

Race 6 No. 4 Onya Keithy

Improves with racing (8 starts for 0-1-1 first and second-up, 7 starts for 5-0-0 thereafter), 4 starts for 3-0-0 at the trip, drops in weight from his last start win at Cranbourne.
