Saturday January 4

Caulfield (tips based on a track rating range of dead 4 to slow 7)

Race 2 No. 4 Spirited Will

Improves with racing (6 starts for 1-0-2 first or second-up, 11 starts for 3-0-3 thereafter), ran on well second-up when finishing third behind Flying Hostess and Winta Chiller, races best with the stong out of the track.

Race 4 No. 2 Means A Lot

Races very well fresh (4 first-up starts for 2-0-1), 3 starts at the trip for 2-0-1, 13 starts for 5-2-5 on tracks rated dead or slow, placed behind Octavia last prep.

Race 6 No. 4 Captain Fancypantz

Races very well fresh (2 first-up starts for 2 wins), beaten only 3.5 lengths at this track/ trip at Group 3 level last prep – terrific form for an RB 78 race!

Rosehill (tips based on a track rating range of good 2 to dead 5)

Race 5 No. 10 Cosmic Cameo

Meets Miss Alibi 1.5 kilos better at the weights (and much better at the barrier draw) for being beaten only 0.2 lengths last start, 2 wins from as many starts at the distance, drawn barrier one.

Race 6 No. 9 Jacquinot Bay

2 wins from 3 starts at the 1400-metre trip, finally gets to a more suitable race after two unplaced runs in Listed sprint races, last prep was beaten only 1.4 lengths by Messene when conceding 3.5 kilos to that galloper.

Race 8 No. 3 Carmora

5 starts for 3-1-0 (and a fourth-placing at Group 3 level) in his first prep, 2 starts for 1-1-0 at the trip, drawn well in barrier two to jump and lead.
