Saturday June 15
Moonee Valley (tips based on a track rating range of slow 6 to heavy 10)
Race 7 No. 5 De Fine Lago
- His three runs back from a long spell have been excellent, he’s a better horse with racing (10 starts for 1-0-1 first and second-up, 20 starts for 4-7-2 thereafter), 2 starts at the track/ trip for a pair of seconds, five starts ago was placed in a Brisbane Cup.
Race 8 No. 3 Capital Commander
- First-up form is by far her best (5 starts for 3-1-0, compared to 24 starts for 5-5-2 thereafter), 4 starts on slow/ heavy for 1-1-1 so she handles the going, drawn well to race on the speed, respect the stable sending her south for a first-up tilt.
Rosehill (tips based on a track rating range of slow 6 to heavy 10)
Race 5 No. 1 Kontiki Park
- His best form comes when fresh (12 starts for 5-5-0 when first or second-up, 20 starts for 3-4-2 thereafter), 8 starts at the trip for 3-2-1, 3 starts at the track/ trip for 1-0-1, drawn well, should get strong speed to suit.
Race 6 No. 8 Velrosso
- Another whose best form comes when fresh (5 starts for 3-0-1 when first or second-up, 6 starts for 0-0-2 thereafter), 3 starts at the track/ trip for 2-0-1, last win was at this same BM85 level.
Ipswich (tips based on a track rating range of slow 6 to heavy 10)
Race 6 No. 3 Classics
- Yet another who is best when fresh (9 starts for 4-2-0 when first or second-up, 6 starts for 1-0-0 thereafter), 6 starts at the trip for 3-1-0, 5 starts on slow/ heavy for 2-1-0, drawn barrier one.
Race 7 No. 7 High Kin
- Gets better with racing (10 starts for 1-2-1 when first or second-up, 4 starts for 3-0-0 thereafter), 4 starts at the distance for 2-1-0, 7 starts on slow/ heavy tracks for 3-1-1.
Race 8 No. 11 Benny’s Buttons
- Last run was a complete ‘forgive’ effort when never on the track, has 4 starts at the distance for 1-1-1 (the last of which was a third placing beaten only 0.3 lengths by Steps In Time when conceding her two kilos), 4 starts on slow/ heavy for 1-1-1, drawn better than many of the more fancied runners in an open race.
