Friday March 21

Moonee Valley (tips based on a track rating range of good 2 to slow 7)

Race 5 No. 3 Vatican

Luckless last start in the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate, 3 starts ago won a Listed race at Caulfield over 1000 metres easily, 9 starts at the MV short course for 2-5-1, from barrier 1 can push forward and race handy to the speed.

Saturday March 22

Rosehill (tips based on a track rating range of good 2 to slow 7)

Race 1 No. 4 Va Pensiero

Races best fresh (5 starts for 3-1-0 first or second-up, 6 starts for 0-0-0 thereafter), 2 wins from 4 runs at Rosehill including a win at his only previous start at the track/ trip, beat Dissident at Group 3 level last prep when giving 0.5 kilos to that galloper, drawn well in gate 2.

Race 5 No. 6 Let’s Make Adeal

Drops back in grade from the Group 1 WFA Australian Cup (where she was only 3.2 lengths behind Fiorente) to a Group 3 handicap where she gets in on the limit, her 7 previous career starts where third-up or later into a prep have yielded 0-5-1 plus an unlucky 4th at Group 2 level behind Sea Moon last spring.

Race 7 No. 8 Sharnee Rose

Meets Catkins 2.5 kilos better for being beaten 2 lengths last start and meets the same galloper 3 kilos better from both the Group 1 Myer Classic (finished 4th) and Breeders Classic (also finished 4th). Won at Group 3 level over both 1400 and 1600 metres last prep, finally draws an inside gate this campaign.

Sandown (tips based on a track rating range of good 2 to slow 7)

Race 6 No. 1 Ready To Rip

Races best fresh (13 starts for 7-2-2 first or second-up, 15 starts for 1-3-1 thereafter), last start 3rd (beaten less than a length) behind Spirit Of Boom reads as excellent form for this, Sandown should suit his run-on style.

Race 8 No. 1 Dany The Fox

First-up run seemed disappointing at first but Fat Al has since won to frank the form out of that race, 5 starts for 2-2-0 second-up, 2 starts for 1-0-1 at the track/ trip, drops back from Group level to an open handicap and is only 3.5 kilos above the limit after the claim.
