The Friday Fast Break: Week 14

Filed in Other by on January 6, 2011

Perth v Melbourne (Friday, Perth -9.5)
The Wildcats are 4-2 at home this year and now sit atop the NBL ladder but they are prone to inconsistency though, to be fair, their two losses at home have come to bogey team Adelaide. The Tigers have won three on the trot but are just 3-4 on the road. I can't find a play here.

Sydney v Gold Coast (Saturday, Sydney +2 to +2.5)
There is no way you can play Sydney after that horrid collapse against Adelaide last Friday. The Blaze have won two of their last three and have blown their last two road games but can best Sydney this Saturday.

Adelaide v Cairns (Saturday, Adelaide -2.5 to -4)
There is plenty of me considering getting on board the Taipans but in what shapes as a low game, I just can't pull the trigger. Adelaide have won two of their last three but both against bad teams. The Taipans aren't much chop on the road. No play.

Wollongong v Townsville (Saturday, Wollongong 0 to +1)
The Hawks have lost five straight at home and may be the worst team in the NBL. Not super keen on the Crocs here but prepared to bet them at pick 'em. The Crocs scoring is a worry but they have much more upside than Wollongong.

Melbourne v New Zealand (Sunday, Melbourne 0 to +1.5)

The Tigers are a different team at home this year, going 6-2 at The Cage with one of those losses coming in overtime to Townsville. The Breakers are the benchmark this year but riding a two-game losing streak, I am a little wary. A lean to New Zealand but no bet.

Gold Coast -2 at Luxbet at $1.90
Townsville at Cenrebet at $1.91
