Cowboys – Line: 5.00 Bet Units: The line is a big one here, but ratings suggest the Cowboys will cover – the total mismatch is the outside back match up and poor defensive structure of the Raiders. Croker, in particular, and Ferguson are poor defensive centres, they have wingers outside them with less than 10 games between them, a brilliant attacking fullback in Dugan defending in the line at five-eight, and a small half-back who also struggles physically in defence. Experience and class will test them all night – Tate, Linnett, Graham, Winterstein and Bowen should have a field day outside the brilliant Thurston – he will continue to feed his centres backing them to rip holes in the line, he will then play short to the likes of Cooper, Hall and Taumalolo in the 20m attacking zone. The Cowboys have the best the props in the comp in Scott and Tamou, they play big minutes and rate the house down – Fensom could do 60 tackles in this match. The Raiders are rating poorly – in their last 3 games they are down nearly 200m compared to their YTD average, missing over 30 tackles a game, providing 12 errors on average, giving away 7 penalties on average, and a completion rate of only 71% – the worst in the NRL over the last month. The Cowboys will win and should cover this line comfortably – take the Cows to cover (-10.5 to -11.5)
