ANZ Championships – Round 12 Tips
Another week, another couple of pivotal games to the composition of the ANZ Championships ladder – the Swifts v Thunderbirds and Magic v Mystics matches will be critical to the finals prospects of all involved. Over at Making The Nut’s netball gambling offices, Three Feet Radio’s own Ben Carbonaro had his first week sans winning bets in quite some time. You can’t keep a good man down for long though – he’s back this week with his thoughts on Round 12.

Here are Ben’s thoughts on Round 12 of the 2012 ANZ Championships:
Round 12 Tips (please note: all times are the local time for the home side)
Sunday June 17, 12:10 PM Melbourne Vixens v West Coast Fever
Vixens: 7-3 (second on ladder), 3-2 at home
Fever: 2-8 (eighth on ladder), 1-4 away
Bookmakers’ line: TBC
Ben says: The Vixens return refreshed and recharged after last week's bye as they host the Fever in Melbourne on Sunday. While the Fever have been involved in two thrillers (both against the NSW Swifts) either side of a bye, the Vixens’ experience and quality players across the court will get them over the line as they continue to work their way towards finals netball. Since rebounding from three consecutive losses, the Vixens seemingly can do little wrong and goal shooter Kate Beveridge is finally showing just how good she can be, after questions were asked about her ability to perform well under pressure earlier this season.Vixens by 10

Sunday June 17, 2:20 PM NSW Swifts v Adelaide Thunderbirds
Swifts: 7-3 (fourth on ladder), 5-0 at home
Thunderbirds: 7-3 (third on ladder), 3-2 away
Bookmakers’ line: TBC
Ben says: NSW have been involved in three very close games in three weeks and while have proven they can get the job done as a team, the Thunderbirds pose a different threat. With Jamaican import Carla Borrego and shooting Erin Bell both in super form, restricting Adelaide's attacking end is a massive task and while the Swifts have quality at both ends, I think the Thunderbirds by 5.
Recommended bet: TBC
Sunday June 17, 7:20 PM Northern Mystics v Waikato/ BOP Magic
Mystics: 8-2 (first on ladder), 4-1 at home
Magic: 6-4 (fifth on ladder), 2-3 away
Bookmakers’ line: TBC
Ben says: In the clash of New Zealand's top two ANZ Championship teams, it's hard to tip a winner as both teams are evenly matched – each with their fair number of Silver Ferns international players. The Magic had a very indifferent start to this season and while they have consolidated in recent weeks, the Mystics have played quality netball all season with barely a slip up in any game they have played. If the previous encounter between these two teams back in round two is anything to go by, it should be an absolute cracker. I am tipping the Mystics by 3.

Monday June 18, 7:40 PM Southern Steel v Canterbury Tactix
Steel: 2-8 (ninth on ladder), 1-4 at home
Tactix: 1-9 (tenth on ladder), 0-5 away
Bookmakers’ line: TBC
Ben says: Unfortunately, things have gotten worse and worse for the Tactix this season, starting a lot of games well but fading out after quarter time. The Steel have been the competition's surprise packet, taking it to most of the top teams and even snatching the odd win when least expected. The fact that Steel have been more competitive has me learning to towards them. Steel by 7
