Moonee Valley (tips based on a track rating range of good 2 to dead 5)

Race 7 No. 12 Smarty Mac

  • Meets High Esteem one kilo better and much better off at the barriers for being beaten less than two lengths last start (both behind Lidari), Improves substantially with a run back (5 starts for 0-0-3 first-up, 18 starts for 6-0-6 thereafter), never been unplaced on a good-rated track.

Race 8 No. 9 It Is Written

  • Was sounds when finishing fourth first-up behind Samaready two weeks ago (beating home Neeson, Yosei and That’s The One), is strong second-up (4 starts for 2-1-0), and loves this track/ trip (9 starts for 4-2-1, 13 starts for 2-4-0 in all other scenarios).

Race 5 No. 8 Someday

  • Forgive his last start when dropping to 1200 metres off an 8-week break, 6 starts over  this distance for 4-1-0, his only three unplaced career runs were all off breaks of 8 weeks or more.
