Bulldogs – Line: 5.00 Bet Units: Farah is out, Moltzen is out, the inexperienced but talented Sironen returns, and Humble to dummy-half; again, the Tigers look to have real issues with their spine. They meet one of the in form teams in the Bulldogs, off a bye with only Josh Morris backing up after SOO. The Tigers have been struggling for a few weeks now, coming off 3 losses since a shut out of a poor Raiders in Round 13 – their last win. In these last 3 losses, they have averaged nearly 40 missed tackles a game, have been poor in metres gained (only 950m against the Knights), and most alarmingly their best player Benji Marshall has been struggling in both offense and defence – his individual rating has dropped remarkably. The Tigers are struggling, period. The Bulldogs are flying, especially in defence – they are the top rating side in the last month, their spine of Barba, Reynolds, Keating and Ennis sits behind only the Rabbitohs and Storm. The pack is so well balanced with power, size, speed and work-rate – further they have been encouraged to play football in the middle-third before the line – it is great to watch. Morris and Inu have been great in the centres, Wright exceptional all year and the experienced and reliable Sam Perrett makes his Dogs debut; there is a lot to like about the Bulldogs under Des Hasler. The Bulldogs have two major issues to manage in FNF, this is the penalty count – they concede more penalties than any other team, and conceded 8 on average a game in the last 3 outings, the other issue might be the wet weather – this will bring the Tigers closer but not close enough. The line is skinny, take the Bulldogs to cover (-4.5 to -5.5)
