The 2014 Willie M Medal: Round 23
Terrible Cronulla centre Jonathan Wright has placed himself in prime position for the Willie M Medal, moving to within a single point of the lead after a three-point effort against the Melbourne Storm. Wright was given a bath by Mahe Fonua, which just about says it all. How Wright continues to play first grade is a real tribute to Blake Ayshford’s ineptitude.

How good is Joey Leilua playing recently? His errors have been minimal and he has hardly given away a penalty. To top it off, his running has been devastating and on the back of his exceptional form – the knights have been killing it.
I was one that thought he should win this award by a mile but if he continues this good form he could well be soared from the dreaded award. Geez there’s some potential there
