The Friday Fast Break: Week 5

Sydney v Melbourne (Friday, Sydney -1.5)
For mine, the Kings aren't much good despite having gun centre Julian Khazzou, the quality Aaron Bruce and a decent 2-3 record. The Tigers are far better with Mills and Ubaka in the backcourt. If the Tigers' big men can keep Khazzou quiet, they should win this. And who knows how deep the scars run after the Kings blew a huge lead to the Tigers on opening night. A definite play on the Tigers.

Perth v Wollongong (Saturday, Perth -12.5)
Perth should win here despite their shock 8-point loss to Adelaide as a huge home favourite last week. The Hawks won in Cairns last week in a good showing but were outclassed by the Tigers at home. The Hawks are prone to handling errors and the Wildcats' swooping defence can force Wollongong into turnovers. This is the Wildcats' to lose but the line seems right on the mark.

Melbourne v Cairns (Sunday, Melbourne -7 to -8.5)
The Taipans are such an unreliable shooting team that you simply can't play them with any confidence at the moment. They have shot sub-40% twice in four games and they seem to lack a genuine matchwinner. The Tigers should be too strong but I can't play at the line.
