Broncos – Line: 5.00 Bet Units: The Broncos are fresh off the bye and welcome back all rep players this week; they meet a Warriors side that have been only average at best, albeit winning, in the last month. The Broncos pack is back and rates brilliantly again this week – they have the best rating pack in the NRL; with Glenn moving wide to cover Reed, they slot in the outstanding Gillett. Further the form of Maguire has one of the best and in-form props of the NRL coming off the bench in Hannant. This is where the Warriors will struggle to hold the Broncos – the bench of Hannant, Teo, Dodds and the crafty Hunt offer much more than the named Warriors bench. Hurrell is replaced this week by Lewis Brown and that has 3 of the 4 starting centres, back-rowers by trade. The spine match-up looks good on paper, however on closer inspection the Warriors are still struggling to play effectively as a quartet and it starts with Johnson. Friend came out of the Storm system as did Maloney many years ago, this has them playing their football in a systematic and measured approach whereas Johnson, brilliant as an individual, struggles to steer this side around the park against top notch opposition and build long term pressure with his dummy-half and five-eight. The Warriors have improved in some areas over the last month, but still have only beaten teams outside the Top 8 and struggled against under-strength Top 8 teams. The Broncos have the defence to hold this Warriors team, who travel to QLD for a second week in a row, and expect the Broncos to make a charge for a Top 4 finish. Broncos to win and cover the line (-5.5 to -6.6)
