Round 25 Making the Nut Round Selection

Storm – Line: 5.00 Bet Units: What a cracking game! A wonderful rating game, whereas the Storm are superior in every key area – only slightly, but overall enough to be the betting side. The Storm were outstanding last week against a willing Dragons, but they were never tested at all in the 2nd half and were in total control. Cronk could play, regardless the confidence in Widdop to play a similar role is in every Storm player and support staff – it is the Dally M Rookie of the Year finale! The evolution of Slater into a ball-playing fullback is complete – his ability to read the play is exceptional. How does Bellamy get average players to reach their full potential – amazing skill, but assisted by the amazing talent of Cameron Smith. Smith is the heart-beat  in everything the Storm do, from attitude in defence, calmness under fatigue, control when in front, mustering his troops to play to the plan – this allows Widdop, Slater and the rest of the side to play so well – yes, he is that influential and that good! The Manly side is wonderful, and these two sides are worthy of a Grand Final match in 2011! The young halves of Manly are class – a chirpy organiser and a natural leader! The return of Brett Stewart should be applauded, he adds a different dimension to this side, but probably the most indirect influence he has on the side is on his brother Glenn. Glenn Stewart is currently the best back-rower in the comp, and he has been a very angry man since Brett was embroiled in the 2009 issues. Glenn is playing tough, rating the house down and is the real on-field captain and leader this team looks to under pressure – he is playing as though he has a point to prove. The short price of the Sea Eagles is understandable with the game at Brookvale, but the Storm have a great record there recently and if Cronk returns will only be stronger. This will be very tight, maybe a field goal or Golden Point – take the Storm at the plus (+3.5 to +4.0).
