ANZ Championships – Semi Final Tips
The finals picture is complete, with the Vixens and Mystics squaring off with a place in the Grand Final up for grabs, while the Magic and Thunderbirds try to walk the finals tighrope in sudden death action. And of course, no week of ANZ Championship action would be complete without Three Feet Radio’s own Ben Carbonaro giving us his thoughts on the upcoming action.

Sunday July 8, 2:20 PM Melbourne Vixens v Northern Mystics

Ben says: The only clash between these two teams back in round eight saw a five-goal win to the Mystics against a Vixens team that were in the contest but were inconsistent. Melbourne rounded out the home and away season with an 18-goal demolition of the Southern Steel and while that's a good indication of just how good they are, facing a strong Mystics team will be an even tougher assignment in a final. The Vixens have been showing the same sort of form they had back in 2009 when they won the ANZ Championship premiership and will continue such form with a hard fought win. Vixens by 3

Monday July 9, 7:40 PM Waikato/ BOP Magic v Adelaide Thunderbirds

Ben says: The Magic have shown good enough form in recent weeks to suggest that they can create history and win the ANZ Championship premiership, which a New Zealand based team has yet to do. Adelaide have also been in good form but the factor of the increased crowd support and the New Zealand style of play could play on their minds. Magic by 6
