The Friday Fast Break: Week 17

New Zealand v Sydney (Friday, New Zealand -10.5 to -11.5)
The Breakers lead the NBL once more and have built a three-game win streak and an 8-1 home record. Their average margin of victory in their last three has been 14 and at home have won by an average of 16 points in their last six. The Breakers should win big.

Wollongong v Melbourne (Friday, Wollongong -2 to -2.5)
The Tigers have lost five straight and are in all sorts but I can't play Melbourne games. It is a matter of principle.

Perth v Townsville (Saturday, Perth -9 to -9.5)
Two hot teams square off in Perth this Saturday with the Wildcats riding a five-game win streak and the Crocs on a four-game run. These two have met twice in Townsville with the Wildcats winning by eight and 21. It is hard to see Townsville turning that result around. The line is about right.

Gold Coast v Cairns (Sunday, Gold Coast -4.5 to -5)
This shapes as a critical game to the makeup of this year's finals with the fifth-placed Blaze currently two wins behind the four-placed Taipans with two games in hand. The problem for the Blaze has been an inability to build momentum. They should win on the back of a hot Adam Gibson though the line has me concerned.
