Week 2 NRL Finals – Making the Nut Round Selection

Broncos – Line: 5.00 Bet Units: The Broncos were brilliant last week and ratings suggest they should be the side to beat for the premiership alongside the Storm! They were clinical, ruthless and controlled last week, they also showed enough flair, creativity and skill to the NRL public to demand that this club will start as premiership favourites in 2012! The Dragons were dreadful in parts last week, and albeit stayed close were lucky not to get a score put on them. They seemed they had turned the corner with consecutive wins heading into the finals, however when it came to a crunch game they were disorganised, off the pace, and made basic mistakes – they were at their best when Mitch Rein was on the field at hooker, he will start again. The lack of presence, and real power, within the forward pack is a concern – they are taking on a Broncos pack that is the NRL's best. After suggesting Josh McGuire might not be up to the big stage some weeks ago, we are happy to be wrong – he will make the Kangaroo squad on current form and has found confidence at this level. The young back-row tyros of Gillett, Glenn and Teo will just keep coming at the Dragons all night, in particular Hornby and Soward. The Dragons will have to be nothing short of perfect to keep in this one as the importance of sending Lockyer out a winner adds another few points to the Broncos side before a ball is kicked! The Broncos cover the Dragons in all areas, this has the potential to be a blow out – take the Broncos to cover the line (-2.5 to -3.5)
