Bulldogs – Line: 5.00 Bet Units: The Bulldogs are the best rating side going around in Round 12, and only sit behind the Storm and Broncos overall in 2012 – their backline is the best rating in the NRL, they eat plenty of metres and make plenty of breaks – they should be higher on the ladder. The issue is final execution within the oppositions 20m zone – expect Hodkinson to start this week to rectify this area. His patience and ball-playing is what this side craves – Keating is a runner and the Bulldogs have plenty of these in Reynolds, Barba, Halatau, and Pritchard around the middle and fringes, where Hodkinson is crucial is direction and attacking structure to build pressure leading to points. The Bulldogs pack will play short again and pass, the Dogs were flatter with their runners against the Sharks and this will work again against the Roosters, who do like to rush up. The front-row rating of the Dogs is strong in Kasiano, Tolman, Graham and Eastwood who plays tight. The Bulldogs have averaged 250m more than the Roosters over the last 5 weeks, the Bulldogs have missed the least tackles than any other team in this same period, and the Roosters have the worst completion rate % in 2012 [67.73%]. The Roosters have done well to hang around in 2012, but run into a Bulldogs side that should be winning and building through a period with only Josh Morris required for Origin. Hasler is starting to make his mark, and the Titans match can be forgiven – the Bulldogs are warming to the task. Bulldogs to cover the line (-3.5)
